Shona Definition

Kana uchida kuparadza tsika yakaipa kana kuti chimwe chinhu chinonetsa vanhu, ibva wachipedza pakarepo usingaiti tsitsi nacho.

English Translation

Deal with a trouble right through to the end rather than leaving any part of it standing to cause fresh quarrels. Bad habits in particular should be pulled up entirely and finished with.

Cultural Context

“Used to urge that a grievance or a harmful practice be settled completely rather than half-heartedly; the book records it as a variant form of the preceding proverb, with '-kunera' glossed as 'to strike'.”
