Kuvengana hakupi nyaya / nyama inodyiwa yaswera pachoto

Shona Definition

Kusawirirana kwavanhu uye ruvengo hakuna zvakunovaka. Vanhu vakafanira kubata hana dzavo vachiedza kuenzanisa bopoto ripi neripi nyange zvichivatorera muswere wose wezuva.

English Translation

Where people are set against each other, nothing is built: ill-feeling blocks them from understanding one another and blocks the community from getting ahead. Calm and unity come only when people hold their tempers and give a quarrel as long as it takes to be talked out honestly, even if that swallows a whole day.

Cultural Context

“The book glosses nyaya as 'conversation'.”
